Gemstone called Ametrine???
So, I recently ran accross som cool looking jewelry online with a gem called "amertrine." It is supposedly when amethyst and citrine form next to eachother, they cut where they meet so it is half yellow, half purple looking. Anyway, it looks really cool, but what I want to know is if it is a legitmate stone? Should I pay alot of money for this or is "ametrine" some made up, cheap stone???

Yes! Two that immediately come to mind are sapphire and zircon. I don't mean synthetic cubic zirconia, but zircon that is mined in Cambodia. I am a gemologist and I live in Chanthaburi, Thailand which is on the border with Cambodia in rural eastern Thailand. This area has been a colored stone trading center for about 600 years. I regularly see zircon that is a combination of blue and colorless and it creates an interesting effect. On rare occasions I see sapphire that has two colors, and recently I sold a stone that was lime green and lemon yellow in the same gem! It was really marvelous and an outstanding gemstone for a collector who likes the unusual.

Gemstones are to be prescribed based on the LAGNA (Rising Sign) - not really on the moon sign or sun sign. And the sign must be the sidereal ("Vedic") sign, not the Western tropical sign.
Wearing the Gem for a sign's ruling planet will amplify that planet. So it's best if you have an astrologer be sure that your rising sign's ruling planet is not something that you DON'T want to amplify.
Wearing a flawed, cloudy or broken gem is NOT at all good.
All that being said, the gem for Aquarius is "neela mani" which is Blue Sapphire. The reason for this stone is that Aquarius is ruled by Saturn (Classical astrology) and Blue Sapphire is the primary stone of Saturn.
Amythest is also connected to Saturn but it is a secondary connection. The primary stone for Saturn signs (Capricorn or Aquarius) is Blue Sapphire.
